Haunted Houses/Main Attractions
Brighton Asylum housed mentally imbalanced and psychologically damaged individuals back in the 1940’s. Originally housed “gymnasium” style, harsh living conditions and extended stays lead to patient deaths and staff disappearances. An investigation opened by the state was ultimately conducted and the facility shut down in 1952. To this day, no such results of an investigation can be found.
After 59 years of sitting exposed, decaying and cut off from the public, Brighton Asylum reopened in 2011 as a haunted attraction. Its creaky doors were open once again, and ever since, thousands of people have been exploring its hallways and rooms where hundreds of patients lost their minds. The many unthinkable events that took place between the mid 1940’s and 1952, are still waiting to be fully uncovered.

Start your journey at Brighton Asylum’s “research and development” center, where you and your friends will be subjected to a series of “testing” procedures by Brighton’s own research team. Your “readiness” to proceed further into the Asylum will be thoroughly tested in this fully immersive, interactive pre-show experience!
Next, make your way to Brighton’s very own “central station” where you will board our private subway system intended to drop you off at your final destination, Brighton Asylum. But,..will you make it there?
The Bleeding Grounds
Take a journey through the staff quarters of Brighton Asylum, located on the abandoned 2nd floor, closed in 1952, and marveled at by guests in 2011 as they passed under its barred up windows to enter Brighton Asylum and The Tunnel.
Find out why these elaborate quarters, where staff once worked, slept, researched, and experimented, were ultimately dubbed,…The Bleeding Grounds.
Slasher Thursdays
Select Thursdays in October, come face to face with your favorite horror icons of all time in this one-of-a-kind special haunted house event you don’t want to miss!
Brighton Asylum, The Tunnel, and The Bleeding Grounds will be filled with your favorite horror legends, waiting to terrorize you at every turn!
Special free photo ops, horror legends roaming the queue lines, and most of all, a celebration of all things “slasher” at New Jersey’s legendary Brighton Asylum.

Brighton Asylum’s “Black Out” night is a terrifying event, where you and your group will experience Brighton Asylum, The Tunnel, and The Bleeding Grounds in near darkness! Navigate our ghostly corridors armed only with a small LED candle as swarms of monsters lurk just outside your range of vision!
Some of the effects and sets may be visible in the gloom, but much of your journey will be in darkness.
So grab your friends or that special someone and see if you’ve got what it takes to survive Brighton Asylum,…in the dark!

The Twitching Hour – A Paranormal Experience
Experience “The Twitching Hour” at Brighton Asylum for a paranormal experience unlike any other!
Are you brave enough to explore the most spiritually active parts of Brighton Asylum with nothing but flashlights, the latest ghost hunting equipment, and your nerve? This bone chilling event takes place after the haunt closes for the evening (check our hours of operation) and lasts 2-3 hours with an experienced Brighton Asylum paranormal guide.
NOTE: On nights the haunted houses are operating, its possible the start time may be delayed due to the unpredictable nature of knowing exactly when we will close our doors for the evening. Every effort is taken to begin as promptly as possible. Please check in with your tickets at the ticket booth upon arrival.

NOTE: This is not a “haunted house” event with scare actors. This is a real paranormal investigation with real ghost hunting equipment with real results…good, bad, or indifferent! This event can be delayed without notice as the investigation takes place within the attraction space of Brighton Asylum.
